Shmondenko became known to the general public thanks to YouTube and Instagram, where he began to publish videos in the image of a “simple village grandfather” – with a characteristic accent, an ushanka hat and a good-natured face. He would approach the exercise machines with a naive look, and then demonstrate incredible strength, surprising jocks and trainers.
This image went viral. His videos are a mix of humor, strength and motivation. He earned the nickname “Grandpa in the Gym” and became a symbol that strength and character do not depend on where you live or your income level.
